Into the Woods

My favourite walks are in woodland and the details of Nature to be found there serve as inspiration for much of my artwork. I visit throughout the year and am able to observe the changes that the seasons bring. I usually take a camera and a bag to collect leaves, twigs, seedheads, feathers and bones when out on a foray into the woods. I regularly visit Fore Wood in Crowhurst, Guestling Wood and Brede High Wood, both of which are local to where I live on the Sussex coastline, but also enjoy picking up leaves from nearby parks and gardens.

I am pleased to have been invited to participate in an exhibition entitled: ‘Into the Woods’ at the Wing Gallery in Wadhurst. On display there will be paintings, sculpture, photography and taxidermy, curated by Kay Jones. I will be exhibiting a series of oil paintings on canvas that depict leaves from native, deciduous trees.

Private View: Thursday 7th May 5 – 8pm. The exhibition runs from 8th – 23rd May 2015. Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm.
