Exhibition continues into the New Year

First Sight gallery. High Street, Hastings Old Town. Open 10am- 5pm, Fri.- Sun. Current exhibition continues until the end of January 2013.

I am pleased to have a collection of my insect pictures in one of my favourite galleries in Sussex: First Sight Gallery. My fondness for this gallery is two-fold: it is a warm and welcoming place with all the charm that a historical building has to offer and it also exhibits artwork which shares a similar sensibility to my own pictures and reflects a passion for the natural world.

My box-framed, mixed media drawings on antiquarian book covers hang alongside pictures by Denise Franklin, William Waldie and Alvaro Petritoli. Each of these artists use a variety of image-making techniques to portray the varying local landscape and the details to be found within it, in distinctly different ways. As well as wall-hung work, there is a lovely selection of 3D pieces in the gallery: ceramics by Sarah Palmer; carved, wooden birds by Robert White and Gary Redmond’s metal assemblages.

The images on this page show the First Sight Gallery exterior and the gallery’s display of my pictures.
