Moth gets a mention!

I was really excited to find that one of my moth pictures appeared in The Times on October 24th 2014. It featured in the Arts section of the newspaper in an article, ‘How to bag the best art (even if you’re not a banker)’ written by art critic, Rachel Campbell Johnston. She writes about visiting the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea with a (fictitious) budget of £2,500 and how she might spend it. She states ‘I could have blown the bulk of the money on a single Damien Hirst spot.’ but goes on to describe six other pieces of (more affordable) art that caught her eye- including my ‘Small Moth on a Small Book’.

In her article, Rachel Campbell Johnston writes: ‘Helen Hunt’s little moth, painted on the pages of an open book, was a beautiful combination of etymology and entomology, and I have a particular fascination with both.’

I am pleased to say that this particular mixed media moth drawing was bought by a couple who had admired my picture at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition last year and had gone to the Art Fair with the intention of seeking out my artwork.
